VOLUNTEER
The Center is always in need of caring and dedicated volunteers with a variety of interests and skill sets. There is a wide range of needs from which to choose, from handyman expertise to running fund raisers to supplement the revenue that supports the operation of the Center. Both are equally important, just in different ways.

DONATE
A gift to the Center for Great Expectations provides the funds to house, clothe, feed, educate and counsel young women in how to break the cycle of abuse, addiction and choices. It provides the resource for the women we serve to begin a new life in which she can be a viable, productive member of our society.
No gift is too small. Joined together, small gifts become large gifts, and through small beginnings, amazing things can happen. Your gift can make a difference to two lives.

Memorials and Honorariums
A lovely way to remember a friend, loved one or colleague is a memorial gift in their honor. We will send the honoree, or family of the honoree, a lovely card informing them that their loved one has been remembered by someone who cares.
Honor cards are also available for commemorating happy occasions such as birthdays, graduations and milestones such as the birth of a baby, a job promotion, a new home or any event you wish to commemorate.
SUPPORT MAJOR EVENTS
During each year, the Center holds events designed to raise funds in support of the mission at the Center. Directed and organized by volunteer board members, the events sponsored by the Center are well attended and fun.
The Gift of Hope Gala
Held at the beautiful Palace at Somerset Park, this black-tie glittering event is held in November. Beautiful swirling gowns, a silent auction that offers trips, hotel stays, diamonds and sapphires, furs, as well as affordable items including gifts for children, all come together to promise an evening that is more than memorable. Gourmet cuisine, the Soul Street Orchestra for all-night dancing and a short program make this a premier event.
The Gala Committee meets monthly all year long and there is always room for more members to help on all the sub-committees that are necessary to make the Gala the annual success it has become.
The Ken Daneyko Golf Classic
Held in July at the gorgeous Suburban Golf Club in Union, this event features a wonderful pre-golf brunch, a fabulous round of golf, a grand reception on the veranda of the club high above the course, a silent auction and of course meeting the event’s namesake, Ken Daneyko , legendary star of the New Jersey Devils. Also in attendance is boxing great Gerry Cooney.
The Golf Committee meets monthly for approximately 6 months leading into the event. New members are always welcome and needed.
Mardi Gras
Commemorating the end of the Lenten season, Mardi Gras is a series of 3 to 5 days of dining at the Verve Restaurant on Main Street in downtown Somerville. Each dinner served is selected from a special menu offering the finest cuisine. Owner/chef Rick St. Pierre has dedicated a percentage of the cost of each meal to the Center. This popular fund raiser offers a festive, New Orleans style evening and supports the programs and services provided to the women at the Center. Reservations during Mardi Gras are advised.
